The CSUCI University Chorus performed an excerpt of Morten Lauridsen’s Lux Aeterna; sang I Believe by Mark A. Miller; and supplied the chorus to the Rolling Stones You Can’t Always Get What You Want at CSUCI’s eleventh annual interdisciplinary extravaganza of original work, along with the Contemporary Music Ensemble, Azteca Dance and Culture, CI Dance Program, Theatre, Cheer, Dance Club, KakePops, and special guests Hip Hop Mindset and Ukrainian Dance Troupe Chervona Kalyna. Followed by a DJ set by E-motive and Arts Under the Stars Dance Party!

Into the Light: Celebrating Black Composers in Choral Music

A Virtual Choral Experience featuring the CSU Channel Islands University Chorus and the Pleasant Valley School District Chorus streamed on demand. The event included non-idiomatic choral music of some of the most famous and influential Black composers who have too long been neglected in the Western tradition: Bobby McFerrin, Undine Smith Moore, Mark Miller, Victor C. Johnson and Ysaÿe Barnwell.
Into the Light: Celebrating Women Composers in Choral Music

A Virtual Choral Experience by the CSUCI University Chorus and the Pleasant Valley School District Chorus streamed on demand. The program was designed to bring awareness of women composers past and present who have been underrepresented in concert programming: Betty Nicholson, Dale Trumbore, Dr. Andrea Ramsey, Sarah Quartel and Elizabeth Alexander. Interviews with Dale Trumbore and Dr. Ramsey describe the challenges each have faced in the competitive field of choral music.
